Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find an answer to your question.

Please reach us at youarenotalone@thegabrielfernandezfoundation.org

Yes. Most reporting systems allow for anonymous reports. However, providing your contact details can be helpful if investigators need additional information.

  • Initial Screening: Authorities evaluate the information to determine if it meets the criteria for investigation.
  • Investigation: Child Protective Services (CPS) or police investigate the allegations.
  • Action Taken: This may include offering services to the family, removing the child from harm, or prosecuting the abuser.

Your identity is typically kept confidential unless you are required to testify in legal proceedings.

You do not need proof of abuse to report. As long as you report in good faith, you are protected by law from retaliation or liability.

In most cases, your involvement ends after the initial report. Authorities handle the investigation and take appropriate action.

Contact the appropriate hotline or child protection agency for that jurisdiction. Many hotlines offer guidance for international cases.
